There is quite an array of water sports you can do in Kiev all year round, mainly thanks to the river Dnepr that runs through the city center.

If you're looking for some good exercise, try rowing which is widely considered the oldest sport in the world. There are several rowing groups you can join. 

To prepare for your summer trip to Crimea, visit one of Kiev's diving centres to learn the basics or even go for a license.

If you like going fast and don’t mind getting wet, waterskiing and wakeboarding are the sports for you. There is a special waterskiing cable run at the X-Traction club which is ideal for beginners. If you are an experienced water-skier, get down to the river and amaze everyone on the beaches with your skills and backflips. The waterskiing cable track costs 50 Hryvnas for 30 minutes. There are also clubs with boats, modern equipment and very helpful instructors. Waterskiing with a boat costs some 60 Hryvnas for 10 minutes.

Finally, there are a few Yacht clubs on the Dnepr, all of which offer sailing lessons and have boats for rent. Rental prices start at around 300 dollars per day.
