GO2KIEV: Please tell us about Aquardar Resort Sanatorium.
Sanatorium “Aquadar” offers both relaxation and recreation in any season for individuals and families who are tired of the busy city as well as for those who want to receive medical treatment and restore their emotional health. It’s a perfect ‘Family Center’ location where people from Ukraine and abroad enjoy the picturesque Ukrainian forests and lakes. For adults it is a place where you do not hear the sounds of the noisy bustle of the nearby metropolis, for children it’s a world of nature and unforgettable experiences.
GO2KIEV: Where is your spa hotel located?
Aquadar is located in the Cherkasy region, which is between Kiev (200 km) and Odessa (300 km). For those who travelling from the Kiev-Odessa highway, we are only at a distance of 35 km from the richly historical and beautiful city of Uman which is considered the tourist pearl of Ukraine because of Park Sophievka which is considered the world’s landscape architectural masterpiece of the end of 15th and beginning of 19th centuries. It features unique sceneries, exotic plants, rare trees, sky-blue ponds, fountains, cascades, grottoes and antique sculptures.
GO2KIEV: What leisure activities are available for the family at Aquadar?
Families can reconnect in every season by enjoying shared time together. Enjoy the stunningly beautiful autumn foliage and landscape by walking around beech and oak forest. Children can go horseback riding on trails and to the neighboring village. The petting zoo has pigs, roosters, horses, ostriches, and where one can touch and feed the live animals. The winter holiday months are favorable for reserving Christmas and New Year celebrations. The resort is magically decorated with lights which sets the tone for festivity. When snow falls and the temperature drops to freezing, families can ice-skate on the large circular pond or sled down the many gently slopped hills. Spring and summer comes alive with people fishing, swimming and sunbathing at the beach or trying their hand navigating with a boat or catamaran. Of course, if children prefer indoor play time then they can participate in the animation programs, watch a movie or go to the play room. GO2KIEV: What health treatments are available at the spa resort Aquardar?
We offer a wide range of proposals, which are individually selected for health by our in-house physician using natural Radon water, Curative mud, physical therapy, balneotherapy, therapeutic massage, salt mines as well as various programs for the care of body and face.
GO2KIEV: How does Radon water help with recovery of diseases?
Experience physicians who specialize in the practice of rehabilitation technologies recommend radon baths to return patients to a fully functional and comfortable life. The radon baths have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect on the immune system, circulatory, respiratory and urinary organs of the reproductive system.
GO2KIEV: What is the Salt Mine and how does that affect one’s health?
People who suffer from allergic and respiratory diseases use speleotherapy which is set of procedures with the use of salt as their main component. The Salt Mine room has the shape of a cave with the ceiling covered with layers of Solotvino salt. Its size is (6.5 x 4 x 3) which is very compact and houses up to 10 people. The flow of ionized air through a duct with a disc made of Solotvino salt greatly helps sufferers of chronic bronchitis, breathlessness, and cough. The type of treatment is dates back to the ancient Grecian times.
GO2KIEV: What treatments are available cosmetically enhance the body and face?
Women will particularly enjoy the “Relax- SPA” weekend which is intended to treat and prevent stress, rejuvenation, and recreation. Treatments include hydro-massage, diet, skins masks and deep tissue massage for the upper and lower body parts. As well, the SPA procedures, such as the sauna and a Japanese bath “Ofuro” withdraw toxins which are considered an effective means to prevent cellulite.
GO2KIEV: Are there a variety of rooms to choose from? And is there a restaurant at the sanatorium?
Aquadar has 3 residential 4-story buildings with rooms of various categories, from single rooms to suites. All rooms have central heating, equipped with modern furniture, TV and a refrigerator. In the bathrooms are a toilet, wash basin, shower, and towels. The Restaurant Kolyba is cleverly decorated Ukrainian style where one can easily go back to an atmosphere wrapped in Ukrainian spirit. The dishes are in strict adherence to national traditions, as well as grilled and cooked on an open fire. The bread is baked daily and tea is brewed in a samovar. The restaurants appeal is that it is warm, friendly for intimate conversations with family as well as for merry festive evenings during the holidays.
